I believe portraits should show the true personality of the person being photographed.  As a mother I have taken my children to photographers who have struggled with them to get their feet placed perfectly until my children were in tears, and I have purchased portraits of my children that didn't really look like them.  Once I started in photography, I decided to photograph my children myself and to make sure they looked natural. Even high school seniors should have pictures that express their true personality.  I do see the value and importance of formal poses and use them, but I strive to make them as natural looking as possible. 

The images in my galleries are available for sale.  Please email me at jpickens@visitjpimages.com to order prints.  Prices are listed on the price page.  If you are interested in a print larger than listed, email for a quote. If you are in the Monroe County area, I am also available for portrait (children, seniors, couples, etc.), event (parties, team events, etc.), and assignment photography.  If you need pictures for a website, business cards, or brochures, I can work with you to create what you need.
